This collection consists of the professional papers of Dr. Gloria Hill. Materials include administrative files, correspondence, reports, and photographs related to Dr. Hill’s tenure at Carnegie Mellon University. The materials relate to the administration of the Carnegie Mellon Action Project (CMAP) office and the founding and early administration of CMU’s Qatar Campus.

Biographical / Historical
Gloria Hill (1947 - 2017) was a staff member at Carnegie Mellon University until her retirement in 2015. Dr. Hill began her career at CMU in 1972 as an advisor in the Carnegie Mellon Action Project (C-MAP) offices, later serving as director of the program from 1984 to 2004. From 2004-2008, she was the assistant vice-provost for education, liaising between CMU’s Pittsburgh campus and the newly established Qatar campus. From 2008 until her retirement, Dr. Hill was the assistant dean of the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the director of the Academic Advisory Center.
She graduated from Ohio University with a degree in secondary education. She held a master’s degree in counselor education and a Ph.D. in administration and policy studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
